Congratulations to Flying Gophers on their ChampionCHIP at our sixth annual Bat4Ben fundraiser tournament!
The day began foggy and damp, but cleared up to be a beautiful 75 degrees and sunny for our sixth annual Bat4Ben fundraiser tournament on Monday, January 2 at Fleming Island High School. It was a sold-out event with 16 registered teams. We played our usual round-robin and narrowed things down to just 4 teams to move on to playoffs; BDN, Flying Gophers, Ball Busters, and Heavy Hitters. After the first round of playoffs, the final two teams were BDN vs. Flying Gophers. They played a 3-inning game which resulted in Flying Gophers winning with a final score of 8 - 0.
Thank you so much to all of the other teams who came out and played; Master Batters, FCB Old Dudes, Belgian Wiffles, Rage, Blue Ballers, McNasty, Rake n’ Whiff, Beaver Bucaroos, Dodgers, Pitches Be Crazy, We Got the Runs, and Shemeel Bars. As always, it was an absolute pleasure hosting this event.
